The New Club Shirt

Many of you will be aware that the idea of a new style club shirt has been a discussion point for some time now. The off season gave us an opportunity to explore the idea further by investigating various suppliers, looking at more modern materials and importantly design styles that might better appeal to the membership.

The committee decided to set up a small working group and through their efforts and much subsequent debate, a design was chosen that is contemporary in style, more comfortable to wear in the choice of material and still reflects the colours of our club.

The design has been approved by Middlesex Bowls (this hurdle had to be cleared) and we are now in a position to announce our new club shirt and to start taking orders. There is an approximate lead in time of 5 weeks so we really want to have an initial order placed ASAP.

The company we’ve chosen is ZapKam Ltd (www.Zapkam.com) and you’ll need to access their website to get the size / style information you require before ordering. There will be a ladies and a gents cut, a ‘slim fit’ option and the choice of button or flat collars.

The design you will see attached does not yet incorporate our club badge. This will be added once our first order is placed and a mock up sent to us for approval.

I will have set up an account with Zapkam and have an ordering process in place prior to the membership event on March 19th. You will be able to place orders then, but make sure you know what size to order as exchanges will not be possible. All members who play in club representative matches are encouraged to buy our new shirt although a years ‘grace’ will be extended for those that require it when old shirts can still be worn.

As an incentive to buy a new shirt ready for the start of the season, the club is willing to subsidise the purchase of your first shirt with a £5 discount. This means (at current pricing) that you will only have to pay £22. Subsequent shirts will be charged at full price, £27.

Members who do not wish to commit in the first wave of ordering can go online to our Zapkam club shop and buy individually at any time for £27.
