Saturday will be used as the ‘change-over’ day when the bowling direction (North/South or East/West) is due to change, as shown in the rink layout date column.
Stage #1 – Rink Direction & Day Colour
Refer to the date column to establish the current WEEK. Depending on the game ( ie roll-up, friendly, league, or Captains choice, etc) the direction of play will be either NORTH/SOUTH or EAST/WEST. Having decided the rink direction, find the appropriate DAY COLOUR from the weekday row.

Stage #2 – Rink Equipment
All of the rink markers, numbers and side markers are located in the locked equipment store. Keys for this store are held in the key safe outside of the equipment room.
Stage #3 – Rink Number 1 Position
For NORTH/SOUTH play RINK 1 is on the lefthand side of the green when facing the pavilion.
For EAST/WEST play RINK 1 is nearest the pavilion.
Stage #4 – Rink Position
The rink number markers (numbers 1-6) are placed in line with the DAY COLOUR marks on the battens mounted on the bank-side of the green. The rink width markers are placed on the battens in line with the DAY COLOUR marks that are on the green-side of the ditch edging.
Stage #5 – Rink Side Markers
Two SIDE MARKERS (to indicate the minimum bowling lengths) are placed on each side, at right angles to the direction of play, on the ditch boards in line with the large white marks.
Stage #6 – Other Rink Equipment
Mats, Jacks and Scoreboards are located in the equipment store. All equipment, markers, etc. MUST be returned to the equipment store daily at the close of play & keys replaced in the key safe with the combination jumbled.
